Continuing legal education (CLE), consists of professional education for attorneys that takes place after their initial admission to the bar. In Nevada, attorneys must complete certain required CLE in order to maintain their U.S. licenses to practice law. Nevada attorneys typically earn CLE credits by completing legal training presented by experienced attorneys. The training may cover both legal theory and practical experiences in legal practice. On January 1, 2018, the annual credit requirement will change to 13 total hours each year – including 2 hours of ethics and 1 hour of substance abuse.
